About Us

San Antonio

San Antonio Express-News award-winning journalists deliver the news that matters most to San Antonio, from mom and pop businesses to the global economy, from military homecomings to foreign affairs and from neighborhood struggles to international disasters. The paper has dedicated news bureaus in Austin (together with the Houston Chronicle), McAllen and Washington, D.C.

San Antonio's most enduring source of news and information has expanded to include specialized publications and magazines and the city’s No. 1 website, mySanAntonio.com.

The Beaumont Enterprise, recognized by the Texas State Historical Survey Committee as Southeast Texas' oldest business, has been serving the region since 1880. Since 1998, the Enterprise annually has been recognized as one of the top medium-sized newspapers in Texas and five other states.

The Enterprise is the sixth-largest of 15 daily Hearst newspapers. In addition to the daily newspaper in both print and electronic forms and the website beaumontenterprise.com, the Enterprise produces Southeasttexas.com, the weekly Jasper Newsboy, Hardin County News, as well as a bi-weekly real estate magazine and three monthly magazines, VIP, the EventsBook and Lakecaster.

Laredo Morning Times, founded in 1881, is one of the oldest newspapers in Texas. It was acquired by Hearst in 1984. Tiempo de Laredo, part of the LMT family, is a Spanish-language daily that includes sports and feature pages as well as local, state, national and international news. Laredo Morning Times also offers a popular website, lmtonline.com that garners 1.8 million page views per month.

The Plainview Daily Herald was acquired by Hearst in 1979. The newspaper is published in the nation's largest cotton growing region and on the edge of the nation's heaviest concentration of cattle feeding and beef packing operations. Hale County is home to an ethanol plant and the area has realized recent growth in milk and wind energy production.

The Herald is a multiple winner of both the Sweepstakes Award of the West Texas Press Association and the Panhandle Press Association's General Excellence Award, and has been recognized by the Texas Press Association. Its website, myplainview.com, also has won numerous awards.

The Midland Reporter-Telegram, acquired by Hearst in 1979, is located in the heart of the vast 54-county Permian Basin of West Texas, a geological region producing 70 percent of the oil in Texas.

The newspaper's special coverage includes the Permian Basin Oil Report, a weekly section devoted to news of the gas and oil industry and the mywesttexas.com website that serves the entire Permian Basin with local news and information.
