In this role you will lead a team of full-time and part-time employees in a distribution center environment.  You will also work with independent newspaper contractors, and be responsible for daily operations of the distribution center and the satisfactory delivery of product to up to 50,000 subscribers and non-subscribers. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing and training district managers and part-time coordinators
  • Oversee delivery of newspaper product to subscribers
  • Responsible for scheduling & expenses of staff, along with daily and weekly expense budgets
  • Resolution of service related issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Engage in subscriber retention and sales efforts
  • Ensure compliance with independent contractor agreements
  • Audit routes to evaluate the profitability and appraisal of delivery service and sales potential
  • Create & maintain accurate maps of each route
  • Assume responsibility for open routes

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years management experience preferred, particularly in a fast-paced deadline driven field.  Customer service experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Critical thinking; self-starter
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Good decision maker with effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Reliable transportation; valid Texas drivers’ license and proof of auto liability insurance
  • High school education or GED required; college preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
