BACKGROUND

POSITION’S MISSION

The ERP Trainer’s mission is to design, develop and implement all training for the HCM and Financial Team [a complex, cross-functional, multi-platform Oracle cloud-based ERP application]. This individual will be Hearst’s subject matter expert on end-user training for the ERP application which will include HCM, Finance and Payroll applications. 

As an Oracle Cloud HCM Trainer you will work in a matrix organization to partner with the Business Unit Oracle Change Management Leads (5).  You will be responsible for the coordination of talent development initiatives, includes planning, scheduling, and evaluating learning programs. Responsible for the administration of the learning management system, includes setting up courses, communities, evaluation forms, and post-training activities.  You will teach both new and current customers Oracle applications.   You should be passionate about the quality of what you do with an intense desire to continue to make everything you are involved in better.  You should be ready to work hard but have a lot fun doing it!

 

MAIN TASKS / ACTIVITIES

           Become an expert in the Oracle HCM and Financial and ADP product suite and work across      functional teams to stay current with rapidly evolving enhancements

           Assist with the development and delivery of learning programs through various methods of delivery including classroom instruction, webinars, and eLearning

           Conduct analysis to identify individual and team development needs to improve overall employee performance and engagement

           Assist with the development of and provide ongoing support for the new hire orientation program.

           Develop presentations for the promotion of and reporting for talent development initiatives.

           Develop training aids, materials, exercises, instructor guides and other collateral to ensure learning solutions meet the needs of learners

           Prepare for training delivery, includes securing training venues, logistics, ordering materials, and on-site support

           Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 3+ years of organizational training or education experience focused on talent development, or related experience in human resources, performance consulting, or organizational development.

           Experience in assessing training needs and delivering training classes in groups and to individuals

           Knowledge of adult learning principles and practices

           Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

           Exceptional communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and presentation skills with a dynamic, engaging facilitation style.

            Strong organizational skills, critical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex assignments.

            Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision or direction.

            Work cross-functionally with others to understand new features or functionalities of the system

            Administer Learning Management System (LMS) including content building, communication, and implementation

            Manage front line user troubleshooting

            Create and maintain training surveys

            Manage interrelationships between multiple projects and work objectives

            Learn and quickly master new product functionality

            Apply facilitation techniques to share your knowledge - providing students with the tools to be a successful Oracle customer

            Use dynamic presentation skills to engage your students and improve their learning experience

            Collaborate with content development team to make improvements to course structure, content, and delivery methods

            Build relationships with other instructors and across teams to share best practices, drive innovation and meet goals

            Ability to communicate concepts in a concise, logical manner so students can absorb and retain

            Passion for learning, teaching, and mastering complex system functionality

            Ability to comfortably and confidently present to groups of 20+ people using a variety of delivery methods for lengthy periods of time

            Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training

            Stay current on trends within leadership development, talent management, and contribute best practices and key learnings to the team

            Coordinate and lead multiple technical, compliance and behavioral type training; training, mastery training, and follow up training.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Reports to: Senior Director, Training

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

                  Bachelor’s Degree

                  10-15 years’ experience in a corporate learning environment

                  10 years’ experience developing training strategy and designing training programs for introduction of complex enterprise-wide technology into corporate environment

                  Strong facilitation skills

                  Exceptional written and oral communication skills

                  Commitment to “Concierge Level Service” and continuous improvement

                  Commitment to continual growth and understanding of the industry

                  Knowledge of the instructional design process

                  Working knowledge of eLearning development technologies [e.g., Captivate, articulate] and Learning Management Systems [e.g., SCORM compliance]

                  Strong desire to keep abreast of best practices and industry developments as they pertain to the role

                  Self-motivated with strong work ethic and passion to succeed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

               Knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to enterprise, ERP, cloud-based systems and Oracle solutions

               Experience working in a large media company

               Knowledge of Hearst’s industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters

TRAVEL AND WORK LOCATION

The position will be based in New York, NY. The majority of the work will be completed out of the New York office. However, travel will be required to other offices, as required, to lead or facilitate training sessions leading up to and during rollout.
