The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for the set-up, operation, maintenance and repair, storage and transport of equipment used to enhance live events.  Responsible for the installation and operation of the AV streaming and broadcast infrastructure of Hearst Tower, support 80 conference rooms and 25 Executive offices.  Events supported by the team include in-house, outsourced, on-site, and off-site locations.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and operate equipment such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment.
  • Record meetings and presentations with video cameras, operate spotlights, adjust amplifiers, and other technical support.
  • Provide technical support for live meetings, presentations, conferences, teleconferences, webinars and distance learning classes including coordination of graphics and connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise for ad hoc or scheduled meetings requiring AV tech. 
  • Maintain technical expertise, learning functionality and maintenance of new equipment.
  • Install, remove, repair, replace and inspect AV equipment.
  • Identify and resolve malfunctions for AV equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems (VTC), microphones and speakers.
  • Track inventory of equipment and order supplies, avoiding shortages for on-demand need.
