SeattlePI became the first major metro newspaper to go digital-only back in 2009.

SeattlePI strives to be as experimental and innovative as the city it covers. Eclectic, edgy and engaging, SeattlePI documents, questions and celebrates the region's growth, natural beauty, success and challenges – while being its own part of Seattle's ever-changing role in both the Northwest and around the globe.

The Edwardsville Intelligencer

The Edwardsville Intelligencer was founded in 1862 and acquired by Hearst in 1979. The newspaper serves Edwardsville and the Glen Carbon, Ill., area, as well as surrounding rural towns. The Intelligencer is online at theintelligencer.com.

The Edwardsville / Glen Carbon market is among the two richest and fastest growing communities in the Metro East—that portion of the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan area situated immediately east of the Mississippi River and representing one-fifth of the Greater St. Louis population.

Edwardsville and Glen Carbon, along with adjacent Maryville and Troy, represent four of the five Madison County communities with a median household income exceeding $60,000. In short, these four communities are the "cream" of Madison County. Indeed, with an abundance of assertive, youngish community leaders, a school district that is considered among the best in the state, a growing and highly regarded university, the synergy created by Edwardsville’s county seat status, and the close proximity to St. Louis, these four communities are considered by many as being “the next great place” in the St. Louis region.

Seattlepi.com—read by an average of 4 million people in the Seattle area and around the world every month—brings readers the latest news and information, entertainment updates, opinion, community conversation and more. The robust site is the flagship brand for Hearst Media Services in the Seattle area and features a mix of original staff reporting and breaking news, blogs by both staff and prominent members of the Seattle community, links to other great journalism and websites, community databases, photo galleries and more.

Seattlepi.com has a rich 148-year history of journalism, first as the Seattle Gazette and later as the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. It was the first major metropolitan daily newspaper to switch to an all-digital news model.
