We are a company of passionate individuals striving to improve healthcare and patient experiences. Our medical content and software tools empower doctors and case managers to make the best decisions for patients, and our work improves the care patients receive in the hospital and at home.

Our Indicia team builds software used by Case Management Nurses to support their daily case work, patient documentation and provide clinical guidance. We’re looking for a curious, customer-centered Software Developer to join this team and help make a difference for nurses and patients.

In this role you’ll work on integrations with other software solutions, and build APIs and Microservices to better support users. We use the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) so you’ll be heavily involved in defining and breaking down work items.

Are you curious about your end-user’s business and workflow? Do you have a strong sense of ownership and take pride in your work? Then this could be a great fit for you!

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for full stack development using C#, ASP.NET MVC, Javascript, and Angular, among others
  • Craft quality code, build test plans, integrate systems and test migrations, as well as UAT/OAT testing, code quality review, go-live preparation, and production support
  • Work with a Product Owner be part of Scrum team through sprints and ceremonies to estimate and prioritize work, provide feedback, and share ideas along the way
  • Pair with other developers and move work items through the backlog to acceptance in a timely manner
  • Work with the clinical team to develop an understanding of the user’s workflow, priorities and requirements in order to analyze gaps, develop tests and prioritize projects
  • Adhere to established guidelines within the Scrum Team and create/update technical documentation
  • Participate in code and design reviews and provide coaching to other members of the team
  • Demonstrate a collaborative team mentality including mentoring, sharing knowledge and providing timely, constructive feedback

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You’re familiar with Agile principles and ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standup, demos and retrospectives as we follow the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • You’re comfortable paired programming in an extreme programming environment (XP)
  • You’re a code craftsperson and value quality, write unit tests and want to work in a test driven development (TDD) environment
  • You’re self-motivated and take initiative to solve problems and understand the user’s experience
  • You’re comfortable giving and receiving feedback as part of a collaborative team and development process
  • You have a positive attitude and a growth mindset
  • You have 1-3 years of enterprise software development experience in the .NET stack and ideally developing APIs or microservices
  • And, ideally, you’ve got a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

The two most important personal attributes for this role are a sense of ownership and a willingness to proactively take initiative to build the best software for your users. When you talk with a Nurse, it’s clear that the patient’s wellbeing is the top priority, and we provide them the tools to help more people and have a greater impact. Are those things you’re interested in? Are you looking to be part of a genuinely collaborative team? And to do meaningful work? If so, we’d love to hear from you so apply today and we’ll take it from there!

We embrace diversity, equal opportunity and are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. It is only with diverse thoughts and ideas that we'll be able to create the change we want in Healthcare. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be for it.
