As the Senior Accountant with MCG you will work closely with the Finance team and others throughout the company to ensure financial records are complete and accurate. This is a role requires expertise in GAAP and scaling accounting processes with attention to detail, as well as background in report development and high-volume data maintenance/manipulation. We’re looking for a reliable and accountable partner to take over month end closing process. We’re experiencing a high rate of growth so experience embracing and managing change is important.

  • Prepare Balance Sheet account-level analysis and reconciliations as assigned and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, all required financial statements along with supporting analyses, including performance metrics
  • Communicate timely and effectively with teammates and management on financial related matters with appropriate detail
  • Validate bi-weekly payroll data
  • Track project costs and prepare related reports and schedules
  • Resolve issues independently and escalate when necessary
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist in audit responses with internal and external auditors
  • Ensure general ledger transaction categorization is accurate – prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, etc
  • Routinely and consistently suggest improvements to workflows for efficiency and accuracy
  • Ad hoc projects and other tasks as assigned 

Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • Intellectual curiosity, enjoys learning new tools and approaches
  • Ability to combine and interpret operational and financial data
  • Ability to form data and evidence-based conclusions, and effectively communicate findings
  • Ability to consistently meet all deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable with Excel to summarize and dissect large datasets  
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required
  • CPA or CMA a plus
