POSITION SUMMARY: MCG Health, part of the Hearst Health network, helps healthcare organizations implement informed care strategies that proactively and efficiently move patients toward health.  MCG is looking for a Product Manager to lead our Value Based Care Solution portfolio.  The Product Manager will help craft our strategic direction to best serve the value-based care market, including creation of new solutions.  This role will help develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates MCG solutions in the value-based care market.  The Product Manager will act as the product expert/resource for MCG’s value-based care market solutions, assist in the research required to define the product direction by attending industry conferences, working with clients and prospects, as well as with MCG staff.  This role will also directly manage the product owner assigned to the Value Based Care Solution portfolio.

 

This individual must understand the role of information technology tools and how they can support clinical decision support. This position requires deep experience with the Value Based Care market.  Clinical background is preferred with a strong background in business case analysis, product design, and health information technology. 

 

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:     Successful accomplishments and primary accountabilities of this position will depend upon establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of people.  Such people may include MCG staff, clients, vendors, Hearst corporate staff, and visitors.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Builds business cases to support the development of new solutions in the Value Based Care market

  • Once a product is developed, leads the commercialization activities and assists in the development of product information materials for the Sales team related to product features and benefits

  • Works closely with the Director of Product Management in determining and prioritizing product needs based on client and market opportunities

  • Clearly defines solution milestones, timelines, and key performance indicators

  • Effectively manages the scope of the project against defined milestones, timelines, and key performance indicators

  • Act as subject matter expert for the Value Based Care market: represents the voice of the customer user and buyer personas for the Value Based Care Solutions

  • Actively participates in cross-portfolio product planning of solution vision for MCG

  • Work across departments with clinical, IT project management, content development, software testing, marketing and other groups as needed to resolve issues, enhance processes, and ensure quality

  • Actively participates in the communication planning for releases - both external client communication, and internal communication across all departments

  • Engages directly with clients to resolve product issues as needed

  • Manages software formats through their entire lifecycle

  • Direct management of Product Owner

  • Manages special projects as needed

     


 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

  • Excellent oral and written skills

  • Strong analytic skills

  • Ability to expand market needs into business cases

  • Able to work independently and be self-directed

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team

  • Ability to manage multiple projects

  • Clinician preferred, familiarity with clinical systems required

  • 25-30% travel will be expected when required to meet job requirements

  • 4+ years in healthcare software product management or system support required

 

A.            Licensure/Certifications/Registrations/Permits:  Clinical degree preferred, Master’s degree preferred.

  4. Computer/Office Skills

    1. Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Internet skills required.

    2. Typing and work-processing skills required.

    3. Proficiency in data and report management skills.

    4. Proficiency in records management skills.
