We are looking for an experienced Bookings Director to produce/co-ordinate all main fashion and cover shoots for ELLE, including beauty, FOB model shoots and special projects. You will be responsible for commissioning photographers, casting models, booking hair and make up, sourcing locations, arranging flights and accommodation for team as well as managing annual shoot budget.

 

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

MAIN FASHION 

•           Work closely with the Fashion Director to plan the shoot schedule at the beginning of each season, reporting directly to the Editor

•           Collaborate with the Fashion Director, Art Director, Fashion Editor and contributing fashion editors to come up with studio/location and story ideas for each shoot, drawing up list of possible model options, hair/make-up etc

•           Work closely with photographers’ agents to secure best shoot dates, keep photographers’ fees within agreed budgets and to make sure edit and final images meet ELLE’s deadlines

•           Regularly analysing competitor activity and keeping team informed on any standout usage of models/celebrities/photographers etc.  Presenting seasonal runway reports to the team on trends on new faces and headliner models.

•           Regularly meets with new talent and assessing quality and relevance of work as potentials for ELLE to consider working with.

•           Work closely with Workflow and subs desk to agree deadlines for each issue. Supply all relevant production credits and check proofs for any errors or omissions

•           Cultivate and maintain good relationships with model agencies in London and New York to ensure that ELLE is always shooting with the highest calibre of model possible.

•           Build good contacts/relationships with hair and make-up agencies to ensure ELLE editors work with the best possible make-up artists and hair stylists available

•           Book all flights and accommodation for team

•           Work closely with the Travel Editor and travel PR’s to secure deals and special media rates for the ELLE team in order to keep shoot budgets down

•           Source potential locations for shoots, working with local producers and location scouts to find the perfect location and props within budget

•           Manage the fashion budget, working closely with the Managing Editor. Be aware of all miscellaneous costs incurred by fashion team in relation to shoots/trips, including; expenses on trips/returns & courier costs and other miscellaneous expenses

•           Able to effectively managed and nurture the role of Bookings Assistant and develop their skills further

 

 

 

COVERS

•           Work closely with the Editor, ‘Associate Editor/Culture Director’, Fashion Director and Art Director to find best possible photographer for each cover

•           Work with Associate Editor & Culture Director to fix dates for cover shoots, get PR/celeb approval for hair and make-up options

•           Liaise with agents/representatives to ensure any special terms e.g. any fashion credit exclusions/% of credits clear in any agreements and communicated to Fashion Director/Stylist/Culture Director.

•           Manage cover budget alongside Managing Editor, negotiate fee for cover photographer, organise shoot production/studio/location/props etc

•           Book all flights and accommodation for team, including cars and/or accommodation for celebrity

•           To attend all cover meetings and include the EIC/Art Director/Culture editor in all important correspondence with regards to the covers, to ensure everyone is regularly updated

•           To involved in all meetings at director level of relevance to the role of Bookings Director 

 

BEAUTY

•           Work closely with the Beauty Director, Beauty Editor and Managing editor to plan shoot schedule at the beginning of each season and ensure in beauty budget

•           Collaborate with the Beauty team to come up with studio/location and story ideas for each shoot, drawing up list of possible photographers, model options, hair/make-up etc

 

 

ABOUT YOU:

 

•            Excellent knowledge of a broad spectrum of agents, photographers, make-up artists, hair stylists and continually striving to identify future talent in relation to brand

•           Proven experience in magazines/ Bookings or an Industry with closely related roles and a strong network of contacts

•           Outstanding organizational skills and good knowledge of photographers and models

•           Ability to work well within a team and able to edit and communicate ideas effectively

•           Creative, extremely proactive and ability to work effectively and efficiently with a discernible eye for ELLE brand values
