As a Part-time Circulation Sales/Marketing Representative, you will interact directly with consumers to generate new marketing leads from various sales promotions & new subscribers to the Houston Chronicle Media Group various publications.  You will deal directly with retail store management & event coordinators to establish positive working relationships at assigned venues and promote Houston Chronicle Media Group product values to increase subscriber base.  You will function as field sales representative & HC Customer Service liaison with consumers.  You will be responsible for establishing new consumer relationships with Houston Chronicle Media Group services.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Present positive image & professional sales presentations to consumers of HCMG products & services
  • Represent HCMG pubs in retail store & special event venues
  • Provide consumers with information on established sales promotions/events related to assigned sales activities
  • Be a source of pertinent customer information & inquiry at assigned locations & venues
  • Acquire new subscribers to HCMG publications & establish initial customer service setup
  • Maintain reliable work transportation & schedule of 25 hrs./wk. at assigned sales locations
  • Provide regular feedback/recommendations for marketing display/presentation improvements
  • Achieve & maintain reasonably established weekly sales & lead generation goals

  •   · Strong communication skills (both oral & written) & ability to relate & interact with others; high energy, self-motivated & outgoing personality with an ease in social environments; professional appearance & demeanor when dealing with the public 
  •       Ability to maintain positive composure in potentially tense/pressure situations; self management skills, along with organizational skills with attention to detail.
  •       Previous sales experience a plus, but training will be provided; ability to use tablet & or smartphone devices for order/lead processing; ability to self-transport & work at sales kiosk location for 3-5 hour shifts for 5 days a week.  
  •       High school diploma/GED required
  •       Multi-tasking skills; problem solving and excellent verbal & written communication skills
  •      Team player who is reliable & accountable
