Industrial Mechanic 

This is a pipeline requisition. We do not currently have an official opening for this position but we're always looking for good people. You may apply here for future openings. 

Job Responsibilities: Maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Job Duties: 

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on gear boxes, motors, conveyor systems and production machines. 
  • Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
  • Read diagrams, sketches, drawings, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications to troubleshoot equipment faults.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes and tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment when there is a problem.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components. 
  • Perform tests and run initial production to make sure that the machine is running smoothly.
  • Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimal specifications.
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and needs daily.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations and lean manufacturing guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications: Must possess an aptitude for mechanical projects, manual dexterity, technical understanding, good verbal and written communication skills. A professional attitude, flexibility, self-motivation and the ability to work alone or with a team are required. Five or more years' experience with equipment maintenance and/or mechanics required.  Certificate from a technical school a plus. Familiarity with computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, knowledge of PLCs and electronic controls are needed. 

Work Environment and Schedule: This is an hourly position located in a production facility that is open 24-7-365. There are three daily shifts and flexibility to work any shift is necessary. Nights, weekends, on-call hours and occasional mandatory overtime may be required. Position requires standing, lifting, bending and physical exertion throughout shift. 


Salary: Wages start at $24.66 per hour.
