Hearst Texas Community Newspapers has an excellent opportunity for a Human Resources/Office Management professional to join our team.  This position will be located in Beaumont, Texas.



In this role you will assist in the execution of HR programs and processes for our community newspapers in Beaumont, Midland and Laredo. This includes administering day-to-day employee relations, communicating policies and procedures, coordinating the hiring/recruitment process, conducting new hire orientation, health and safety, and leave of absences.  Will also facilitate various office administration duties and functions.


Responsibilities:

       Assist in the planning and execution of special projects and programs such as recruiting, performance management, employee recognition, etc.

 

       Coach and advise employees regarding HR programs, practices and procedures

 

       Conduct investigations and address employee complaints

 

       Communicate proactively and work with department managers as needed to resolve employee concerns/issues and identify administrative needs that occur on a routine basis.

 

       Collaborate with line management to develop a strong understanding organizational culture, business strategy and goals, talent profiles to deliver on hiring needs and help drive business results

 

       Respond to all unemployment claims, maintain personnel files and generate HR reports

 

·        Conduct new hire orientation & coordinate company-wide employee events

 

·        Coordinate communication between all Texas Community properties and gather information for different projects, reports, communications, etc.

 

·        Office administration duties to include various reports, scheduling publisher’s calendar and coordination of travel arrangements

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

·        3 - 5 years of experience in Human Resources

·        Office management experience strongly desired

·        Recruiting experience a plus

·        Oracle system/HRIS experience a plus

·        Working knowledge of labor law or HR management

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Strong organizational skills

·        Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience

·        Collaborative, team-oriented, along with ability to influence others

·        Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects

·        Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or Business Administration preferred
