Desired Education:


B.S. or similar degree in Accounting; Masters in tax is a plus.

C.P.A. and/or J.D. are a plus.


Desired Experience:

 

The position requires someone with strong technical U.S. international tax expertise, experience of advising a complex corporation on corporate projects and transactions, plus the capacity to interpret technical matters and taxation strategies for non-tax personnel.  The candidate should have at least 7-8 years of extensive U.S. international tax experience with either a large public accounting firm and/or a large MNC.  The position’s salary will be commensurate with the individual’s experience.

 

Essential Job Functions:


  1. Review cross-border acquisition and disposition transactions for U.S. tax implications and recommend structuring alternatives.
  2. Advise on tax efficient methods for repatriating funds.
  3. Proactively manage the Company’s Subpart F exposure, suggesting planning alternatives to minimize the impact on the Company’s effective tax rate and cash flow.
  4. Proactively manage the Company’s foreign tax credit benefits, suggesting planning alternatives to maximize the impact on the Company’s effective tax rate and cash flow.
  5. Maintain PTEP, tax pools and basis calculations of the Company’s foreign subsidiaries.
  6. Manage the Company’s transfer pricing policies and provide alternative pricing strategies if available.
  7. Consult with business unit and/or legal personnel on day-to-day business matters from a U.S. international tax perspective, including review of contracts and financing documents.
  8. Implement projects and drive them through to a timely, successful conclusion.
  9. Manage the international tax components of IRS audits.
  10. Coordinate information gathering related to U.S. international tax return compliance (Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 1118, 1042, FBAR, and others) and year-end tax accounting reporting (GILTI, FDII, FTC, etc.), and work with finance and accounting personnel to resolve information reporting issues.
  11. Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of international tax compliance and international related year-end tax accounting calculations.
  12. Enhance the profile of the tax department through the provision of tax advice to business units in a timely, accurate and proactive manner. 

Successful Candidate Will Be:


  1. Comfortable with lateral and higher contact with staff and senior managers in other corporate departments and with business unit personnel.
  2. Not afraid to “roll up the sleeves” while being able to retain big picture thinking.
  3. Capable of keeping up to date with tax law changes and review legislative proposals to determine the impacts to the Company.
  4. Willing to get involved in ad hoc planning projects and manage the tax issues associated with those projects either by direct action or through external advisers.
  5. Able to work in a flexible “team-based” environment.
  6. An outgoing personality with the desire to lead the international tax function, including the managing, mentoring, training and motivating of junior staff.
