Senior Product Owner 


Will perform as a techo/functional software development leader as a member of the Agile Team who serves as the customer proxy and is responsible for working with Product Management and other stakeholders—including other product owners and other teams—to define and prioritize the Team Backlog so that the target software application solution effectively addresses program priorities while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features.  In particular, will serve as the Agile Team member who is empowered to “accept” new stories from MCG customers and who has the primary responsibility for what custom software application features get built for customers with the Company's proprietary evidence-based clinical guideline software applications, and who has a significant role in ensuring the quality of the MCG solutions developed for MCG customers.  Will also be focused on the development of MCG solutions that will help MCG customers collaborate with vendor partners via MCG Web Services as well as to ensure the successful deployment of MCG’s evidence-based content within MCG applications.  To successfully execute these responsibilities, duties will further include:

  • Working closely with the Product Manager to convey the product vision and goals.
  • Working with internal and external customers to fully understand and conceptualize an MCG solution features and work-flows related to those features.
  • Creating and maintaining the Product Backlog for MCG engineers.
  • Elaborating Agile Themes, Initiatives, and Features into user stories that are granular enough on both technical and functional levels to be achieved in an iteration of work for MCG application solution development.
  • Prioritizing and sequencing the Agile Backlog.
  • Participating in the daily solution development Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives of the Agile Team in order to help the technical and functional development of assigned MCG application solution development projects.
  • Accepting or rejecting work throughout the Agile Sprint for assigned MCG application solution development projects.
  • Communicating solution development, testing, launch and implementation status internally.


Bachelor's degree in a field of Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering.

5 years of experience at a technical or functional lead level with enterprise-level Web-based or client-server based healthcare industry software application development or quality assurance projects in an Agile software development environment utilizing Agile development methodologies, including Scrum, Lean, and Scaled Agile Framework, and which also included development of EDIs compliant with industry standards (including HIPPA and ANSI X12).
