The Medical Editor position is located within the Clinical Content and Solutions department, which is a team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and editors dedicated to creating high-quality, actionable evidence-based content and solutions.  He/she will be responsible for the development and maintenance of evidence- and experience-based content and tools designed for health care systems’ quality and practice improvement initiatives.  He/she will also assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of related key content production strategies in order to achieve content production line business goals and objectives for various products as assigned. 

 
This position will be based out of the Los Angeles office.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Plan and conduct systematic reviews focused on providing guidance on best practices for care delivery by providers
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the analysis and evaluation of clinical quality information from databases
  • Assist in the formulation of long-range planning with respect to the application of health care quality data to practice and operational improvement
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports of quality data results that include discussion aligned health care systems’ (customers’) goals
  • Ensure on-time production and publication of quality and practice improvement content to customers
  • Assist internal and external customers on using current solutions and developing new solutions relevant to quality and practice improvement
  • Provide leadership and guidance to clinical content team on analysis and evaluation of clinical quality information and solutions
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent) with clinical experience (ie, completion of residency)
  • 2+ years of clinical operations experience is preferred. Advanced training (fellowship training or advanced degrees) in quality/clinical informatics is desirable
 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Strong understanding of clinical quality implementation and measurement and operations management
  • Strong clinical research and analytical skills (e.g., ability to accurately interpret the findings and statistical data of published studies and guidelines, clinical data management and analysis)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple assignments to ensure timely completion of all tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and in learning use of computer applications
  • Proficiency in using statistical analysis and data science software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R)
