The Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with Hearst Media Services customers. Accounts are assigned by Customer Service Manager in conjunction with the DMS Sales Director

The Account Manager is responsible for achieving sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives.

The Account Manager represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company.



Sales Related Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

·         Establishes productive, strong professional relationships with key company personnel to work together on the goals of assigned accounts. While growing revenues associated with the assigned accounts 

·         Develop profitable and sustainable sales growth and retention within assigned accounts. The AM will meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives for assigned account base

·         Assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis and communicates the needs of the clients to their assigned reps and DSS accordingly

·         Manage and solve conflicts with clients

·         Develop and deliver key account plans for assigned accounts

·         Communicate with assigned clients on a monthly basis to review performance of existing media program.

·         Analyze account performance and make strategic recommendations to client base in an effort to maximize client results and ROI.

·          Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to remain a client-account manager relationship by up-selling and cross selling

·         Attend ongoing product training, sales meetings and rep 1 on 1’s

·         Implement and manage the effective delivery of customer programs including communication strategies, customer training, issue resolution of major escalations and required internal reporting

·         Provide deep campaign analysis and performance recommendations including

o    Viewing each campaign with a strategy view

o    Understanding the client expectations and KPI’s and working with your AE’s on achieving those goals

o    Manage open territories with the assistance of your team and seek out upsell opportunities with these and all assigned accounts

  • The Account Manager will partner with their assigned team on the following
    • Proposal creation
    • Quotes for all print and digital
    • Monitor and when needed reserve all HCMG premium products
    • Alert team as to when limited and premium products are available in their territory for both print and digital

Process Related Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

·         Upload all Digital & Print orders including

o   Contract, IO, Creative, etc.

o   All digital order fulfillment and follow up

o   Confirmation then sent to billing


·         Upload creative to affinity, internal art teams and any vendor or internal art process needed for set book of accounts

o    follow up on proofs as needed and workout final approval flow with AE

·         Work with CSR team to coordinate run dates, bill dates, go live date, spec work and reporting for all print & digital clients


·         Achieves assigned sales quota in designated strategic accounts while meeting assigned expectations for profitability.

·         Achieves strategic customer objectives defined by company management.

·         Completes strategic customer account plans that meet company standards.

·         Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
