Hearst Connecticut Media seeks an Engagement Editor to help lead culture change at the state's largest local journalism organization. They will encourage and help guide editors' and reporters' interaction and outreach with and active listening to readers and communities, oversee social media, lead the newsroom in developing conversations around news coverage, and play a key role in audience development. They will report to Hearst Connecticut's vice president of news and digital content, and be a senior newsroom leader of Hearst's network of local newspapers in Connecticut, including the New Haven Register, Connecticut Post, Stamford Advocate, Greenwich Time, Norwalk Hour and Danbury News-Times.


Candidates should have experience in reader and community engagement work and local journalism. They should understand and embrace the need to partner with readers at every step of the process of local journalism.
