Produces and maintains quality software in a timely manner to meet customer requirements, placing emphasis on customer satisfaction.  Performs a variety of project management duties to ensure efficient and proper implementation of programming tests.  Analyzes, translates and writes detailed requirements.  Produces accurate and complete functional design documents for development.  Designs, tests, debugs and implements new and modified programs and systems. Performs manual and automated change verification and regression testing to ensure completeness and accuracy. Supports developmental staff in the testing of integrated tools. 

Maintains confidentiality of CDS and its clients’ proprietary information 
Analyzes user programming requests to determine appropriate technical response.
Produces appropriate research and user requirements documentation for full user sign-off.
Identifies the need for, defines and recommends studies or projects based on business conditions and operating environment.
Continually learns and applies new information on software tools and technology in order to make future recommendations for use, in conjunction with Information Services technical staff.
Regularly manages or participates in projects or studies that are company-wide in scope.
Creates and/or maintains detailed functional design documents and test plans
Designs and develops testing scripts for complex integrated systems.
Conducts comprehensive and accurate system test on applications written by others.
Provides assistance in training and analysis to members of Software Development staff.
Ensures effective/regular communication with requestor and others affected by assigned tasks.
Performs as primary contact for Technical and User staff for troubleshooting purposes, initiates defect reports and coordinates resolution activities.
Provides scheduled status reports as needed.
Provides technical and analytical leadership for rest of department.
Provides project management for design, development and testing of critical projects.
Performs all job responsibilities in compliance with Software Development business practices and standards.

Interacts in cooperative and professional manner with employees, clients and/or vendors in team-oriented environment.
Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
Follows all CDS ergonomic and safety policies.

Performs additional duties as required or requested.
Defines, initiates, and carries out specific projects requested by various business units.

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or four-year related degree, or equivalent job related experience.
Minimum of four years of progressively complex analysis experience.
CSTE Certified Software Test Engineer certification required.
Demonstrated strong analytical, decision-making and critical thinking skills.
Proven technical leadership and design skills.
Demonstrated experience advising and providing consultation to others on complex business problems.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Demonstrated experience making decisions on variety of tasks frequently requiring discretion, judgement and initiative guided by general procedures or standards.
Demonstrated ability to react to change and remain productive and/or flexible.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete long-term/short-term tasks independently.
Capable of quickly grasping and working with new concepts and ideas.
Advanced math skills.
Demonstrated experiencing working with multiple and/or conflicting demands in a successful manner.
If required to travel, has access to transportation requiring a valid driver’s license, proof of safe driving record and active insurance.
