The DataOps Engineer will contribute to the on time, accurate data delivery via a large and complex data platform in AWS. They will contribute to our continuous database availability, via execution of best practice disaster recovery planning. They will perform complex root cause analysis of problems and implement recommendations to prevent future occurrences or customer impact. In addition, they will define, develop and deploy system monitoring requirements, thresholds and corrective actions. They will design, build, automate and deploy highly available, robust, resilient and secure database solutions.



  • Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients’ proprietary information.

  • Contributes to the on time, accurate data delivery via a large and complex data platform in AWS.

  • Contribute to our continuous database availability, via execution of best practice disaster recovery planning.

  • Performs complex root cause analysis of problems and subsequently, make and implement recommendations to prevent future occurrences or customer impact.

  • Defines, develops and deploys system monitoring requirements and thresholds as well as corrective actions. Improves the system reliability via predictive analysis.

  • Collaborates with and provides detailed feedback to internal/external database cloud stakeholders on resiliency initiatives.

  • Participates in production incident and escalation management calls. Manages and oversees incidents to resolution.

  • Manages systems failure risks including critical change review and validation.

  • Identifies, designs and develop self-healing responses to production data pipeline issues.

  • Identifies and writes tools that will help automate common and critical tasks.

  • Works on a shift designed to provide database engineering support on the weekday, weekend on-call, follow the sun model support.

  • Designs, builds, automates and deploys highly available, robust, resilient and secure database solutions.

  • Documents all operational processes and procedures to optimize support and management of deployed systems. Demonstrates proficiency in establishing repeatable processes.

  • Interacts in cooperative and professional manner, with all levels of employees, vendors and/or clients, in team environment.

  • Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.

  • Follows CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.



  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested (or required).



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience. Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement.

  • At least five to eight years of experience as an RDBMS Engineer for mission critical systems.

  • Strong technical skill on any one of the commercial RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) architecture, administration.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong hands-on Data analysis skills.

  • Strong hands-on SQL performance tuning.

  • Experience programming in any applicable administrative language (shell, Perl, Python, Java) is a requirement. Python skills are preferred.

  • SQL programing experience.

  • Strong Linux systems administration concepts.



  • Familiarity with ITIL service operations, service transition and service design principles.

  • Great interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly and deliver high quality code in a fast-paced, agile team environment.

  • Good understanding of Storage, System, and Network technology.

  • Experience in building, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting data pipelines and data stores running in AWS/Google Cloud

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills.

  • Access to transportation requiring a valid driver's license, proof of safe driving record, and active insurance.

  • Advanced PC knowledge and skills
