Principal Software Engineer - Mobile

Position Summary

A Principal Software Engineer works as part of a team and is responsible for design, development, and testing aspects of software development.  Work consists of enhancements to products and features with up to a very high level of complexity as well as their maintenance. It also consists of R&D, prototypes, pilot implementations, and road mapping. Leadership skills and mentoring other team members are primary components.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Designing and building a mobile client and server application stack.
  • Collaborating with designers, development team, security and product team to deliver best in class enterprise ready mobile solutions using industry standard continuous integration tools and best practices.
  • Working with internal and external partners to design, develop and deliver scalable mobile solutions.
  • Mentoring and technically leading junior developers if needed.
  • Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for sponsorship.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in solid object oriented development.
  • 5+ years mobile development experience (Java, Android).
  • 5+ years of advanced practice of Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong background in computer science, with strong competencies in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with Android Studio and Visual Studio.
  • Experience with version control systems (Github, VSTS, CVS).
  • Experience with Java and extensive knowledge of Android development techniques and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability in UX/UI material design. Know which tools to use when and why.
  • Quality - Demonstrated usage of different testing patterns, continuous integration processes, build-deployment systems. Continuous monitoring.
  • Current - Up to date with current trends in mobile development. Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and applying them in the real-world.
