Do you want to help shape the future product design and editorial strategy of a historic media brand? This is an opportunity to help create an ideal team environment focused on bringing new digital experiences to both an established audience of automotive enthusiasts and a new segment of in-market car shoppers, helping both find information on cars they love and cars they want to own next.

As the SEO Content Manager, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating SEO and brand awareness strategies as part of the Customer Experience organization. You will work closely with web analytics, user experience, technology and editorial resources to provide recommendations based on keyword research and SEO analysis that inform website copy, site design, website architecture, and editorial content optimization. You will also provide thought-leadership and stay on top of industry developments to ensure product and technology teams are aware of search engine trends and address them as needed. You will work in a high-performing and dynamic environment with measurable outcomes and successes. You will anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations of our audience and business goals, ensuring growth of brand awareness.

From day to day, you will:

  • Be responsible for organic keyword research and SEO strategy in coordination with business and editorial objectives
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations to editorial, design and technology teams to drive broader and deeper engagement with the brand
  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for content development in coordination with editorial team goals – general and keyword specific
  •  Fulfill ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from the organization
  • Administer search engine software and tools (keyword and traffic analysis, GSC, webmaster tools, competitive ranking) for the purpose of reporting and informing strategies
  • Implement link building strategies across internal and external channels
  • Keep pace with SEO, search engine, social media and internet marketing industry trends and developments
  • Monitor and administer web analytics dashboard, report and key reporting tools to identify strengths, opportunities and issues to be resolved
  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across major search channels
  • Communicate to the team and stakeholders on project development, timelines, and results
  • Serve as an expert on the site’s audience by reviewing concepts and designs, ensuring content and search engine optimization
  • Contribute to establishing interdisciplinary standards, best practices, and processes to continually improve team effectiveness
  • Contribute to audience development competency that obsesses over understanding audience, brand awareness and how to maintain and grow our position as a market leader

You will be expected to:

  • Be a self-starter and be constantly seeking opportunities for professional development
  • Effectively manage time and tasks in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
  • Proactively engage across distributed Editorial, UX, Product and Technology teams, ensuring collective understanding of SEO strategies, goals, and accomplishments
  • Communicate openly, honestly, and consistently to build trusting professional relationships
  • Continually exceed professional expectations of team and personal goals

You’re an Ideal Candidate if:

  • You have 3+ years in-depth knowledge and experience developing and executing Search Engine Optimization strategies
  • You have 3+ years applying SEO analysis methods to content rich websites and consumer facing digital experiences
  • You have designed and executed keyword analysis leveraging popular industry tools such as SEOMOZ, SearchMetrics, Botify, or SEMRush
  •  You have a strong understanding of current and emerging search engine and leading algorithm technologies and factors influencing brand visibility
  • You are proficient with website analysis using a variety of tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Excel
  •  You have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript capabilities and constraints
  • You are passionate and committed to white hat techniques and quality of content and experiences over short-term, “spam” strategies
  • You manage stress well and thrive on ambiguity
  • You are confident presenting your ideas as well as being composed when challenged on them
  • You are organized, analytical, curious, and able to maintain a sense of humor
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or comparable certification in Marketing, Communications, Analytics or digital marketing-related discipline
